About

One place for what you need and what you have

Tukalos is built around two questions: What do I need? and What do I have? It's for everyday things you need soon, and for the things you own that someone nearby could use.

Tukalos is still being built. The features on this page are planned and may change. Today, the only thing that works is the waitlist.

  • Post what you needSay what it is, when you need it, your budget, and how far you'll go.
  • Browse without postingLook through what's on offer nearby before you ask for anything.
  • Sell it or give it awayList an item with a photo and a price, or mark it free.
  • Respond to nearby requestsSee what people close to you are looking for, and offer to help.
  • One account for bothAsk for help one day and be the help the next.
  • For people and local businessesJoin as an individual, or set up a profile for your shop.

Give something away, save on your next purchase

Under the planned rewards programme, when you give an item away for free on Tukalos, you'll earn a service-fee waiver you can use on a future purchase.

  1. 1List an item for free under “What do I have?”
  2. 2Hand it over to someone nearby who needs it.
  3. 3Earn a service-fee waiver toward something you buy later.

How waivers are earned and used, and when the programme starts, will be announced before it begins.

Safety

Planned from the start

These safety features are part of the plan for Tukalos. They are being designed now and are not live yet.

  • Location privacyPosts are planned to show a rough area, not your exact position.
  • Agreed meeting placesYou and the other person choose where to meet, with suggested public spots. Agreeing on a meeting place doesn't share anyone's live location.
  • ReviewsAfter an exchange, people will be able to leave a review.
  • Reporting and blockingYou'll be able to report someone or block them from contacting you.
  • Payments in the appPaid items are planned to be paid inside Tukalos. Any fees will be shown before you confirm.
When you postPeople nearby see a rough area.
When you agree to meetYou both see the meeting place you chose, not each other's location.
